Itinerary
Day 1: Zagora - Draa Valley Discovery - Mhamid
Meet your guide and group in Zagora. Begin the journey through the breathtaking Draa Valley, stopping at traditional villages and ancient kasbahs. Visit a local cooperative to see date production and traditional crafts. Arrive in Mhamid, the last town before the desert. Dinner and overnight in a comfortable guesthouse with authentic Moroccan cuisine.
Day 2: Mhamid - Nomadic Encounter - Desert Camp
Morning visit to a nomadic family to learn about their traditional lifestyle and enjoy mint tea. Begin the desert journey in 4x4 vehicles, crossing varied landscapes of hamada (rocky desert) and small dunes. Arrive at a secluded desert camp in the afternoon. Enjoy camel riding at sunset, followed by a traditional dinner under the stars with Berber music.
Day 3: Erg Chigaga Exploration - Lake Iriqui - Fossil Sites
Full day to explore the majestic Erg Chigaga dunes. Morning climb to watch the sunrise (optional). Visit the dried Lake Iriqui and hunt for ancient fossils in the surrounding areas. Afternoon free for relaxation, sandboarding, or exploring the dunes on foot. Second night in the desert camp with enhanced stargazing opportunity.
Day 4: Sunrise Meditation - Return to Zagora via Alternative Route
Final sunrise in the desert with optional meditation session. After breakfast, begin the return journey via a different scenic route, offering new perspectives of the desert landscape. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Arrive back in Zagora in the afternoon, marking the end of your Sahara discovery adventure.
