Itinerary
Day 1: Zagora • Tamegroute • Mhamid
Depart Zagora southwards. Visit the historic Quranic library and pottery workshops in Tamegroute. Continue to Mhamid El Ghizlane, the last oasis before the vast Sahara. Dinner and overnight in a traditional Kasbah hotel.
Day 2: Mhamid • Sacred Oasis • Erg Chigaga
Off-road 4x4 adventure begins. Cross the Hamada (stone desert) to the Sacred Oasis. Continue to the massive dunes of Erg Chigaga. Sunset camel ride and overnight in a luxury desert camp under the stars.
Day 3: Erg Chigaga Exploration
A full day dedicated to the desert. Try sandboarding, hike the highest dunes for panoramic views, or visit a nomadic family. Enjoy the silence and solitude of the deep Sahara. Second night in the desert camp.
Day 4: Erg Chigaga • Lake Iriqui • Foum Zguid • Zagora
Depart via the old Paris-Dakar rally track. Cross the dry Lake Iriqui. Stop at Foum Zguid for lunch. Return to Zagora in the late afternoon, completing the desert circuit.
