Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas - Aït Benhaddou - Ouarzazate
Depart from Marrakech and cross the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka pass through the High Atlas Mountains. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aït Benhaddou, an ancient fortified village. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the "Gate to the Desert," with optional visit to Atlas Film Studios. Overnight in a traditional riad with dinner.
Day 2: Ouarzazate - Draa Valley - Zagora - Mhamid
Journey through the stunning Draa Valley with its endless palm groves and ancient kasbahs. Stop in Zagora for lunch, then continue to Mhamid, the last town before the vast desert. Experience your first taste of desert life with a short camel ride. Dinner and overnight in a comfortable desert guesthouse.
Day 3: Mhamid - Erg Chigaga Dunes (Desert Camp)
Full day 4x4 adventure into the wilderness. Cross the dry Lake Iriqui, explore nomadic settlements, and discover fossil sites. Arrive at the magnificent Erg Chigaga dunes in the afternoon. Enjoy camel trekking at sunset followed by a traditional Berber dinner around the campfire. Sleep in luxury tents under the starry Sahara sky.
Day 4: Erg Chigaga - Foum Zguid - Marrakech
Wake up early for a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, begin the journey back via a different route through the desert plateau of Foum Zguid. Stop for lunch along the way before crossing back over the Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, marking the end of your Sahara adventure.
