Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Mhamid - Desert Introduction
Arrive in Mhamid, the last town before the vast Sahara. Meet your off-road team and receive a safety briefing. Test drive in the nearby dunes to get accustomed to the 4x4 vehicles. Evening introduction to desert navigation and camping techniques. Dinner and overnight in a traditional guesthouse in Mhamid.
Day 2: Mhamid - Off-Road to Sacred Oasis - Nomadic Encounter
Full day of intense off-road driving. Navigate through rocky hamada plateaus, cross dry river beds (wadis), and reach the Sacred Oasis of Oum Lâalag. Visit a nomadic family, learn about their traditional lifestyle, and enjoy mint tea. Continue to a secluded camping spot among small dunes. Campfire dinner under the stars.
Day 3: Lake Iriqui - Erg Chigaga Summit - Fossil Hunting
Cross the vast dried Lake Iriqui at high speed (conditions permitting). Arrive at the base of Erg Chigaga and conquer the highest dunes with your 4x4. Afternoon fossil hunting in ancient seabeds. Sunset sandboarding session. Set up camp at the foot of the giant dunes. Traditional Berber dinner and music around the campfire.
Day 4: Sunrise Photography - Return via Alternative Route - Departure
Early morning climb to watch sunrise over the sea of dunes (optional). Breakfast at camp. Begin the return journey via a completely different off-road route, exploring hidden valleys and canyons. Lunch en route. Arrive back in Mhamid in the afternoon. Transfer to your onward destination or overnight accommodation.
